Prioritizing Network Technology
At MWC 2025, Fujitsu has focused on two key technology areas. Carlos explains: “We are concentrating on network and communications, utilizing two distinct types of technologies: Photonic and Open RAN.
“Photonics allows for a significant amount of data to be transmitted over fiber optics, an area where we excel. Additionally, we have been advocating for Open RAN technology for some time and have built an impressive portfolio in this domain.”
One notable development is Fujitsu’s AI-RAN solution, which enhances resource allocation on GPU servers by merging RAN functions with AI applications for effective resource management.
The company’s Private 5G network solutions are another key highlight of its MWC presentation, aimed at meeting the growing demands for connectivity. Cordero sees these networks as a promising growth opportunity for both telecom providers and technology firms like Fujitsu.
“Our Private 5G solution is relatively new, but as the costs of these networks decrease, even small businesses can now implement Private 5G,” he states. “Previously, the expenses were substantial due to the various components required to connect devices to the infrastructure.”
